The My Emotions Montessori erasable slate book is a practical and fun support for teaching children to name and represent their emotions, such as joy, surprise, anger or fear.

Learning to tame your emotions sometimes poses some difficulties for young children. This slate offers a simple and innovative method to help them overcome grief, anger, fear, or on the contrary to appreciate moments of joy and surprise.

The pedagogy designed by Maria Montessori at the beginning of the 20th century places the child at the heart of his learning by promoting his autonomy and the development of his creativity. The acquisition of the first notions is carried out actively, in a reassuring and caring context for the child who progresses at his own pace, without being afraid of making mistakes. With its erasable support, the slate book is a sensory and fun support ideally suited to Montessori teaching.
For each emotion addressed, the child observes the drawn face to understand the expression represented: the shape of the eyebrows, the mouth, the eyes… which in turn express surprise, pain or joy.
The child masters the outline of the different parts of the face by first going over the model with their finger, then practicing with the erasable marker, following the dotted lines.
On each page, the child is asked to question the degree of emotion felt.

In addition to the drawing, this slate allows you to develop other skills such as:
– Knowing how to reproduce a model
– Complete a drawing and give free rein to your creativity
– Learn to represent your emotions

Practicing simple drawings allows the child to be more comfortable in mastering the outline, and helps them gain confidence in learning the gesture of writing later. The included erasable marker allows him to practice completely independently and start again as many times as he wants.

The method: I draw, I erase, I learn:
• I draw: I practice tracing following the dotted lines, then on my own
• I erase: I’m not afraid of making mistakes, I can start again as often as often as I want
• I learn: I recognize my emotions
